Tip One: Turn Down Your Energy Bills
1. A low-cost automatic setback thermostat can help cut air conditioning and heating bills. Some communities and states offer energy rebates. Seven day programmable units are best for home and business.
2. Ceiling fans can cut cooling costs dramatically while leaving you and/or your employees just as comfortable. Air movement from the fan evaporates moisture on the skin and makes a person feel cooler. With this cooling effect, most people can raise their thermostat three to four degrees and feel just as comfortable. For every degree you raise your air conditioning thermostat you get an approximate 10% savings on cooling costs.

Tip Two: Cut the Cost of Phone Calls
Investigate phone rates on your home, business lines, and cell phones. Many long distance companies offer special packages. For example, a friend saves $40 per month calling their family in Europe with a $2.95 plan that drops rates from 30 cents a minute to 10 cents a minute. Cell phone services continue to be even more competitive and now you can move your old cell phone number to any service. Plus, many cell phone plans offer free long distance and unlimited night and weekend rates – a perfect time to call friends and family. If your business has multiple laser printers, be sure you are using the right printer for each job.
